The official timetable
| Stage | Deadline in 2026 | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| General electoral register | Finalised 10 July | Establishes registered voters |
| Online nominations | 31 August, 08:00 – 8 September, noon | Mandatory first submission |
| Original nomination files | Until 9 September, noon | Delivered to the competent authority |
| Campaign | 10 September, 00:00 – 22 September, midnight | Official campaigning period |
| Election | Wednesday 23 September | Representatives are elected |
These times come from the Interior Ministry. The provisional receipt specifies the appointment for submitting original documents. Completing an online declaration alone does not finish the nomination process.
What are voters choosing?
The ballot renews the House of Representatives. It is neither a presidential election nor a direct vote for a named head of government. The official portal specifies 395 seats and a list system. A candidate’s constituency and position on a list are therefore essential context.
A city name does not always identify a single electoral area: a large urban area may contain several constituencies. A list published for one part of Casablanca should not automatically be treated as the choice available to every voter in the city. Our candidate tracker distinguishes party endorsements from lists whose administrative status has been checked.
Which parties are taking part?
Maroc.ma reports 27 participating parties. RNI, PAM, Istiqlal, PJD, PPS and USFP are among the organisations covered in our election dossier; they are not the entire electoral field.
A manifesto sets out a party’s commitments. Publishing a proposal does not make it law: depending on the measure, legislation, funding and implementing arrangements are required. Our manifesto comparison attributes proposals to their sources and explains the limits of comparison without ranking parties.
Check your voting arrangements
Use the official electoral-register portal to check registration and follow administrative instructions about your polling station. Prepare the identification required by official guidance. A change of address or an old card does not by itself establish your current polling place.
Moroccans living abroad should verify their registration and the procedures applicable to their circumstances with the competent authorities. Nationality alone does not establish every practical arrangement. This guide does not imply that consular, online or postal voting is automatically available.
Campaign coverage and results
Audiovisual regulator HACA defines a broader media election period, from 15 August to 22 September. That period does not move the official campaign’s opening date from 10 September. Our campaign guide explains pluralism rules and broadcasting restrictions.
A poll, endorsement or declaration of victory is not an official result. After voting, provisional announcements, validated results and any legal challenges must be distinguished. No result of the 23 September election is available at the date of this update.
